Mission
Calculator Factory helps people understand numbers in context. We build professional calculators that go beyond raw output — each tool includes formulas, examples, decision guidance, and printable reports so you can plan with clarity.
Why Calculator Factory exists
Most calculator sites stop at a number. Real decisions need interpretation: what the result means, what assumptions were used, what could change the outcome, and what to consider next. Calculator Factory connects calculators into workflows — from mortgage to affordability to closing costs, or from inventory valuation to COGS to working capital.
How formulas are reviewed
Every calculator registers a formula type validated against automated audit cases. We maintain a formula registry, run regression audits before releases, and document methodology on each calculator page. Accounting calculators use professional terminology aligned with IFRS and US GAAP labeling where applicable — without claiming compliance or audit readiness.
Quality philosophy
- Clarity over complexity — results should be understandable without a finance degree.
- Documented assumptions — limitations are stated, not hidden.
- Consistent reporting — print layouts follow a shared structure across calculators.
- Workflow thinking — related tools guide logical next steps.
- No exaggerated claims — we describe what calculators do and what they do not do.
Professional review process
New calculators pass definition validation, formula registration checks, and automated audit cases. Trust content (examples, common mistakes, decision guides) is tailored per tool. Accounting releases receive additional framework review for standard-specific labels and disclaimers. Changes that affect outputs require updated audit cases before release.
Continuous improvements
Calculator Factory ships in focused phases: new calculator suites, trust and SEO infrastructure, user-value features, and platform foundations. Each phase includes validation scripts and public changelog entries. See the changelog for release history.
Calculator update policy
We update calculators when formulas need correction, inputs need clarification, or professional terminology should be improved. Slugs and URLs remain stable — updates improve accuracy and guidance without breaking bookmarks. Material formula changes are noted in the changelog.
Today the site includes 100 calculators across 13 categories, with regular additions to the Accounting and Business suites.
